Starlink High Performance Kit Configuration Guide
**Pre install checklist:
- Starlink Application is installed on your mobile device
- All required equipment is on hand – Starlink box + AirBridge mounting kit
**Installation
Step 1: Find a suitable location to mount the dish
- Factors in selecting a suitable location for the dish
- Clear of all trees or other obstructions, in the event there are some obstructions ensure the dish is as clear as it can be in a southern facing direction)
- Dish to the internal power supply/RJ45 handoff lead is 25M long – This is secondary to the dish placement however it should be considered.
- To confirm a location is suitable perform the visibility test inside the Starlink application. This uses AR and can be done prior to connecting the dish and can be performed as many times as required. Once a location is selected a screen shot of the visibility test is to be saved to fill in the customer handover documentation.
Step 2: Cable Run (Installer to complete)
Step 3: Roof Mounts (Installer to complete)
Step 4: Start-up
For initial start-up and testing of the Starlink unit, connect the Starlink dish to the Starlink Power Supply, followed by connecting the Starlink Wi-Fi router to the Starlink power supply, then power both the Power Supply and Wi-Fi router on.
Step 5: Commissioning
- The Starlink unit will already have been configured in-house by the AirBridge team, Connect to the Wi-Fi Router's network using the password sheet provided in the box.
- Once connected to the Wi-Fi network, open the Starlink app and confirm that the dish is powered on and connected to the internet.
- Run initial testing and take screen-captures of all results
- Main dashboard page where "connected" is displayed
- Speed Test Page will full "Advanced Test" results
- Full statistics page, showing latency and throughput
Step 6: Network Cut-Over
- Once connectivity has been confirmed via the Starlink Wi-Fi router, you are able to perform a network cut-over to the new Starlink connection, Begin by powering off the Wi-Fi router and disconnecting the Wi-Fi router from the power supply.
- Connect the RJ-45 Ethernet Handoff to the Power Supply and route the ethernet cable through the data cabinet if required
- Inform persons on site that you are about to begin the cutover and they will lose internet connection temporarily
- Disconnect the existing WAN connection in the customers network and quickly connect the Starlink ethernet connection to the WAN port of the customer's router.
- Wait a few minutes and confirm that the cutover was successful and that all devices on site are able to access the internet and perform all required tasks.
