ICTWHS204 - Follow work health and safety and environmental policy and procedures
The Laws Applying to WHS in Australia
The Commonwealth government does not have the power to legislate on matters of WHS, Laws are made and controlled by the Federal Government and the six States and two Territories and the Australian Safety and Compensation Council (ASCC)
National Standards and codes declared by the ASCC must be adopted by Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments before they can have any legal value
Information about the program can be found on the website safeworkaustralia.gov.au
The Variations in WHS Laws at the State Level
What You Have to Do to Ensure that You Work Safely and within the Law
InControl
Zero-Touch Configuration
Assign devices by serial number, power on the device and all configurations can be done remotely.
Bulk configuration
Configurations can be made remotely and in bulk across a large amount of devices, all configurations are centralized in InControl2
Configuration Backups
When any change is made to configurations, InControl2 will backup the device configuration in case something goes wrong.
If a device does not report to InControl2 for some time after a remote configuration change, it will rollback to it's last operational config.
InControl Organizations
The organization level allows switching between multiple organizations and gives an overview of all customers.
The operations log tracks changes across an organization
InControl Organization Groups
Configurations are available on the group level as both Group-Wide / Bulk or on a per-device basis.
It is recommended to apply SSIDs to tags, this way you can quickly view, add, or remove which devices have specific SSIDs.
InControl2 Best Practices
- Create Organizations instead of Groups
- This allows you to provide customers access to view or manage their own devices if needed and creates more separation between customers devices.
- Downside of this is that users will need to be individually added to orgs, a way around this is to invite all users that require access when creating a group, some maintenance will be required when staff join or leave the company.
- Use tags to manage specific configurations such as SSIDs
- This allows for quick access to viewing which configurations are applied where and the ability to rapidly reconfigure device settings.
